XyWrite 4 Service Pack add-on for DOSBox-X
==========================================

Install XyWrite 4 Service Pack using the vDosPlus installer. Note the XyWrite 4 installation location and selected CP.

Instead of using vDosPlus, copy the contents of this zip file to your DOSBox-X folder.

Edit the dosbox-x.conf to suit your desired configuration. Notably, select the customcodepage that corresponds to your CP choice made when using the vDosPlus installer, and check that the target folder of the vDosPlus installer is the same specified in dosbox-x.conf for running XyWrite.

Note that vDosPlus uses special fonts for screen display of supplemental CPs whereas DOSBox-X uses customcodepage configuration files. Both systems support the entire range of XyWrite Service Pack screen and print options.

To be able to process DOSBox-X print output you need a Ghostscript distiller. You can set up one by using a Ghostscript installation on your computer (look for ps2pdf14.bat in 'Program files, gs, gs9.55.x, lib' folder) or by using a ready-made Ghostscript distiller, e.g., Edward Mendelson's GSDistiller (http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/gsdistiller.html)). Install the Ghostscript distiller in your DOSBox-X folder. The dosbox-x.conf has already been set up to use GSDistiller. Note that this solution overwrites the output.ps and .pdf files each time you use it. Rename any output files you want to keep and close open output files in the PDF viewer before attempting to print more.
